About Rusko Studio
Helpful Information
Rusko Studio offers the chance to enjoy painting alongside a professional artist and be guided as you work. The teaching method is the time-honoured way of working alongside an accomplished artist to learn through demonstration and practice.
All courses are in oil paint and pastel unless otherwise specified.
No prior experience is necessary but all levels are welcome. Painting course participants are welcome to bring their own materials but a limited selection of student paints and brushes, are available to buy at Rusko Studio. Canvas boards are available to buy.

Courses last five days, arrivals and departures at the weekends. The studio and flat have ample parking space outside. The studio is on the first floor via a staircase.

About the Artist
Elizabeth Gilbey is a professional artist living and working in Galloway, South West Scotland.
She trained in classical painting and drawing techniques, taught in the traditional atelier method, at the London Fine Art Studios. Her teachers included renowned masters such as Ann Witheridge, Scott Pohlschmidt and Nick Bashall.
She works mainly in oils, but also watercolours, pastels and charcoal. Her subjects include still life, landscape, animals and people.
Elizabeth has exhibited at:
- The Chase Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Royal College of Art (five shows from 2009-2014)
- London Fine Art Studios Summer Exhibition
- The Craft of Drawing and Painting Exhibition at the Leighton House Museum, London
